I walked the dog on the beach this morning. Before 9 am, we were already at 23/24 degrees and she was soon too hot. Now safely home.
According to Netweather, temperatures in Bude are set to reach 28 degrees by 1 pm, but it will feel like 33 degrees, so please bear this in mind if you are going out, especially with older people, young children or animals.
The UV index will be very high this afternoon, which means there is high risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure.
Advice is that fair skinned people may burn in less than 10 minutes. Liberally apply a broad spectrum sunscreen of 30+ SPF. Remember if you are in the sea, the sun’s rays are reflected so the impact is even greater.
