Bedruthan Hotel offers outdoor theatre

If you are over that way during the summer, Bedruthan Hotel has teamed up with local theatre companies, Illyria and Quantum Theatre to bring some award-winning theatre to their stunning sea-view lawn this August.

Families, guests and visitors can enjoy the performances and the beautiful coastal surroundings. There will also be a BBQ, luxury picnic hampers, a pop-up bar and, hopefully, a sunset to end the show.

The Adventures of Dr. Dolittle by Illyria is about a doctor who is taught by his wise parrot, Polynesia, how to talk to animals. News of his skills spreads and soon animals from all over the world start sending him messages asking for his help. So, he buys an old ship and sets forth on a mission to heal them.

Illyria’s performance is a funny, much-loved and exciting adventure, with a strong message about responsibility towards animals and the environment.

The Reluctant Dragon by Quantum Theatre is about a young boy who befriends a poetry-loving dragon living above his home. When the town-folk send for St. George to slay the dragon, the boy needs to come up with a clever plan to save his friend and convince the townsfolk to accept him.

A classic retelling of St George and the Dragon, Quantum Theatre’s The Reluctant Dragon is a funny, touching and enchanting story of bravery and friendship.

Eve Butler, Brand Manager for Red Hotels, said: “We are excited to have these amazing local theatre companies performing on our sea view lawn.

“It’s always lovely to see children and adults alike enjoying the shows and the surrounding scenery. We hope that visitors have a wonderful time watching Illyria and Quantum Theatre’s performances this summer.”
