My first visit this week to Buttonwood Emporium in Kilkhampton and if you haven’t been in, then it is well worth a visit because I can add it to the list of tasty places for a decent hot chocolate, among other things.
At 7pm, on Friday 1st November, Buttonwood, owned by Sue and Colin Nottingham, is holding its Christmas Opening. The place will be transformed with tasteful Christmassy goodies, including food, and there will be a chance to order foodstuffs for Christmas.
So, a good opportunity to head on down to Kilkhampton (or is that up?) to give the place a try….Sue and Colin originate from sevenoaks in Kent where they used to run painted furniture workshops, and make bears with dried flowers, called Buttonwood Bears. They have been open since April and are now an established part of the Kilkhampton trading community.
It was gently buzzing when I was there mid-morning on Wednesday, pleasantly busy. A great place to meet friends and have a chat over a drink and cake or something more substantial. Cakes and savouries come from Made With Love, so you know they will be good.
