Battle of Stratton memorial wreath-laying

On Sunday 12th May the Mayor of Bude-Stratton Town Council, along with members of the Sealed Knot, gathered to lay wreaths at the Battle of Stratton memorial to remember the 390 men who lost their lives during the battle in 1643.

This is an annual tradition and usually one of the first duties undertaken by the newly voted in Mayor.

Plans are underway to hold an event to commemorate the Battle of Stratton in 2020.
