Baby Dolphin Dies in Cornwall

Devon and Cornwall Police report two accidents today, one leading to a fatality

Specialist Wildlife crime trained Police officers are currently investigating sad reports of a dead bottle nosed dolphin which was seen in the Camel Estuary, Padstow on Saturday 20th July 2013.

It is believed several boats were in the area at the time and one of the Dolphins was hit by a boat and killed.
It is believed a pod of dolphins entered the estuary at about 1330 hours.
They were followed by up to 20 pleasure boats until about 1645 when they left the estuary and headed up towards Port Quinn Bay.
A pleasure boat running cruises around the area then saw the body of a dead dolphin.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen such incident to contact them on 101 quoting log reference 399 210713. Alternatively they can phone crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.
