Aspirations as ‘Four Go Mad at the Castle’

Yesterday afternoon saw the preview of ‘Aspirations’ – an exhibition of (mainly) watercolours by four local ladies.
The four met at Lynne Holehouse’s art classes at The Bank Tapas Bar where the idea was born to take the plunge and exhibit their work.
Heather Virgin, Coral Locke, Julie Howes and Mary Tilzey began to think about the possibility of holding a joint exhibition last year.

3 of the ‘ladies who paint’.

After months of planning, and with help and encouragement from Lynne (of Wharf Studio) and framing advice from her husband Martyn (of Seventh Wave Gallery), the exhibition came together.
It was a packed preview, and an emotional one, as their dream became reality. Mary was unfortunately not available for the opening event but the others were thrilled to see red dots starting to appear on the paintings, proving that the exhibition was indeed a runaway success.
As well as framed originals, there are beautiful fine art prints and all originals are available as prints by contacting Lynne at the Wharf Studio (by the canal) or any of the ladies.

Having opened officially today, 5 originals have already been sold – proof that their talent and bravery is paying off!

Julie Howes, Heather Virgin, Mary Tilzey and Coral Locke will be showcasing their stunning work in the Castle Studio until June 29th 2019. Please come and view this wonderful collection of uplifting art, inspired by their tutor, Lynne Holehouse.
