Normally, at this time of year, schools and nurseries are holding World Book Day events, but obviously this year feels very different.
World Book Day is a charity that changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. World Book Day helps tackle book poverty and encourages all children to read for pleasure, including making sure that every child in the UK and Ireland has a book of their very own (sometimes their first), bought with their free £1 book tokens.
“Spending just 10 minutes a day reading with a child makes a big difference to their future success. Whether you’re celebrating at home or at school, share a story together and make books more fun, memorable and magic”.
What is wonderful is that Bude Library issued book bags for half-term, so hopefully more children are able to access the magical world of reading.
Adults, too, enjoy a good read, so I can highly recommend Bude Library! Tell us what you are reading …
