Accident on A39 West Country Inn

Fire crews from Hartland were mobilised to reports of a road traffic collision on the A39 by the West Country Inn yesterday evening at around 17.19.

On arrival, crews discovered one camper van on its side in a ditch. One person had self rescued and one person was medically trapped within the vehicle.

Crews used a tirfor winch, small tools and manpower to release the casualty and make the vehicle safe.

Both casualties were taken to hospital via Ambulance. Traffic between Bideford and Bude was affected.
