2-Minute Foundation News Update

From their latest newsletter:

Sanitisers

We always want our 2 Minute family to be safe when beach cleaning and litter picking, and we encourage you to take your own glovespickers and hand sanitiser if you can.

Sanitisers aren’t the nicest products to use, but we have found a gentle spray formula that meets government guidelines, kills 99.9% of all bacteria, is kind on your hands and smells amazing!

Proverb’s skin sanitising spray is refillable, recyclable, free from petroleums, parabens, SLS, artificial fragrance, propylene glycol and other synthetic ingredients plus they donate one sanitiser to frontline workers for every sanitiser sold. Available from our online store and our charity shop in Bude.

Charity Shop now open at Crooklets

We quietly celebrated the opening of our ‘From Trash To Treasure’ charity shop this month at Crooklets Beach in Bude, North Cornwall – the location of the very first #2minutebeachclean station back in 2007!

This exciting new venture has been made possible by Surfdome who have kindly donated stock otherwise destined for landfill in keeping with their zero to landfill ethos.

So if you are in Bude, come say hello! All proceeds help fund our work cleaning up the planet 2 minutes at a time.

Please remember to wear a mask in the shop. We are selling fantastic custom-designed masks from our friends at Gwitha Designs, which are selling like hot cakes with proceeds going to supporting our work!

Post-Lockdown littering sparks huge reaction
Following the devastating scenes of mass littering at some of our most picturesque beauty spots, we designed a graphic in response to being one of the countless locations across the UK that was being treated as a dumping ground.

It resonated with you – our wonderful family – and has been seen an astonishing 20,000 times!!

In addition, we were mentioned on BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine Show – you can listen back here from 1 hour 39 minutes into the broadcast.
