1940s (Sugar Free) Tea Room at the Kitchen Front

By Helen Shingler….

Clair Roberts, of the Kitchen Front, has raised funds of £474.50 towards Cancer Research from this event held today, another brilliantly themed 1940s Tea Room with an amazing ‘Sugar Free Menu’.

I personally tried the savoury cheese scone served with cream cheese and chilli jam (I had to buy two black market coupons at 50p each for the jam but worth it!) I also tried the Peanut Butter and Date Loaf which was a recipe from across the pond!  All served with loose leaf tea in a proper tea pot, with bone china cups and saucer (I forget to use the tea strainer which is provided every time).

During the afternoon, those attending were serenaded with songs of the era performed by Mr. Mark Rosser, who delighted his audience. Well done to Clair and her team of nippy waitresses, appropriately attired for the event.  Please note Clair has a link on her Facebook page.

If you would like to donate something, you can help boost the amount to at least a nice round £500, which was the target!
